A while ago I got the idea of creating a seven-year Bible reading plan. I’m a few years in now, and my seven-year plan has turned into a ten-year plan!
I’ve made this change for two reasons.
First, I’m behind. I’ve just taken a break to read through the Bible cover-to-cover using a 90-day Bible reading plan. Life gets in the way sometimes, and there are a few days when I can't stick to my plan as much as I'd like.
Secondly, and more importantly, my original plan didn’t take into account the time I spend at the beginning of each book studying the background of the book. This takes about two weeks per book, which adds another 132 weeks, or over two years, to the plan.
Reading the Bible this way is slow but rewarding. It’s a feast, and I don’t want to rush it.
My goal, at this point, is to keep chipping away at this plan. As I finish each book, I’ll post a summary of the book, as well as the big ideas of each passage, here.
Updated Schedule
Here’s my updated schedule as of today. The order may change if I choose to focus on a book for my ministry, but I will keep the schedule updated.
